Having never been to or photographed a Quinceanera, I didn’t know exactly what to expect. “It’s sort of like a mini-wedding with no groom,” I was told. Though it sounded like an odd comparison, they were exactly right. For those of you unfamiliar with the tradition, it’s similar to a sweet-sixteen party, only it happens on the fifteenth birthday and it’s a bit more formal. OK, a lot more formal. A celebration of the coming of age of a young woman in the hispanic culture. Lauren’s Quinceanera took place at the The Sportsmen’s Lodge in Los Angeles and was absolutely perfect, thanks in large part to her mother’s meticulous planning.
