05.01.09 Kenneth & Sherrie | La Jolla Cove & The Marine Room

One of the things I really love about what I do is that I get to work with such a wide variety of people from all over the country and the world. Though they live in San Diego now, Kenneth and Sherrie are originally from the South East and they and their family and friends certainly brought plenty of southern hospitality to their wedding day. It was a typical overcast ‘May Gray’ day right up to their ceremony and then the sun broke through and it turned out to be a lovely afternoon at La Jolla Cove. Their reception was held at The Marine Room, which is an absolutely beautiful location overlooking the ocean with the waves crashing right up to the windows. Congratulations Kenneth and Sherrie!

01.17.09 Larry & Peggy | The Grande Colonial

One of the best kept secrets in La Jolla for small, private roof-top ceremonies is the Loft at the Grande Colonial. It’s located on the roof of the hotel’s smaller sister building, just west of the main building, and features breathtaking views of the pacific ocean. Larry and Peggy certainly couldn’t have chosen a more perfect day for their wedding to take advantage of the location. While the midwest and northeast were getting hit with one of the worst snow and ice storms in years, the temperature in La Jolla was in the 80′s and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Peggy was actually concerned about getting sunburned. After the ceremony, we headed down to La Jolla Cove for photographs and then back to the hotel for an intimate reception dinner. Congratulations Larry and Peggy!

06.10.08 Juan & Jessica | Engagement Session

When deciding on a location for engagement sessions, I like to find an area that has a variety of backdrops either within walking distance or a quick drive so that we can get a few different looks in regard to the photographs. Other than that, I try to help the couple find a setting that they feel will best reflect their personality and style. For Juan and Jessica’s session we started off at Windansea Beach in La Jolla and then drove up to the La Jolla Cove, two iconic San Diego locations that provide a variety of beach and park settings. Despite the breezy and cool conditions, Juan and Jessica were both so relaxed in front of the camera, I’m certainly looking forward to their wedding in September.
